Hats Off

As you know, I brag about how good of friends I have (and I'm not lying one bit!). Not only are they good to me, they're good to my baby girl, too. I've been having some major issues finding a good, quality hat that I like for Lexi. I've searched around and just nothing jumps out at me. At all.

I've found ones with two points on them (hello, my baby is not an animal, I don't want her to have horns). I've found itchy, scratchy ones (if I don't like it, my baby won't like it). I've found character ones (blech. I HATE..no DESPISE character clothing), fleece ones, and ones with roses all over them. Someone suggested Etsy. Found some cute ones, but they were pricey and I have to be able to touch and feel them.

In steps Christina. Not only did she make Lexi a hat in a day, but it also got here in a day. And Lex LOVES it (as much as an infant can love a hat, I believe). She didn't take it off or fuss with it. And it's CUTE. And SOFT. And RED. She's the bestest :) (both Chris and Lex..LOL)

I told her I'd take a few pictures for her. The first one is my favorite. Even B told me I'm getting a lot better at taking pictures (yay!). Chris is opening an Etsy shop here sometime soon. I cannot wait. She's crafty. She just needs some time away from the Eskimo Queen so she can create!

THANK YOU SO MUCH CHRIS!!!!!

Sorry :(

I apologize..I ran out of time and didn't get the 6 month photos posted last night. I didn't even get them off the camera! Oops. But, here's my Top 10 Martelle-isms today :)

1. I'm proud of myself. I did spinning on Tuesday, worked out with my trainer yesterday and tomorrow I'm doing a pump class. It's been a long time (ie before Lexi came about) since I've done that much in a week!

2. I cannot WAIT for Christmas! It's one of my top holidays...and I'm actually starting to like it more than 4th of July (which has always been my top). However, I haven't really started shopping (I do have a few lists made) and I haven't started my projects yet.

3. B said that Lexi was on her knees again last night. I suppose I should be going out and getting some gates here soon, huh?? :) I don't think I'm ready for this crawling thing yet!!

4. All the boxes from B's dad's house have been gone through. I washed the china we brought home last night and it's in the china cabinet. We're trying to find it online to see if it's worth anything. We have another set we're going to sell. We now have 1 set of every day dishes, 1 set of Christmas dishes, and 3 sets of china. I think we need to have a party!! :)

5. One more month until we get to see Sarah, Jose, and Alexander. I cannot wait!! I miss them and we haven't seen each other in person since Christmas last year. WAY too long :( Alexander is getting SO big! He definately is not a baby anymore, that's for sure.

6. I get to work from home tomorrow!! I love working from home and wish I could do it more :) The best part is, I can go to the pump class (at 6am) and I can stop working at 3:30 :)

7. Next Thursday, Miss Lex is getting her 6 month photos done :) Our wedding photographer and friend, Dawn, is doing them. I can't wait to see what she comes up with!

8. Tomorrow night, our ladybug will be hitting the streets. We're heading to Gram and Pap's for a quick visit and then heading to Grandpa Hines'. I'm sure they can't wait to see her all decked out for Halloween. My dad tried to get me to come over by saying there were Jello shots going to be served. As if he needs to tempt me with those things!! LOL :)

9. I really really really do not want to work today. I have too much to do at home!

10. Ever hear of the Spotted Box?? It's a box that has a bunch of homemade goods (a lot of baby things) that you can buy on the 15th of the month. My friend, Trisha, grabbed me one for October and I just got it yesterday. There's some CUTE items in there...a ponytail holder, pumpkin barrettes (think the hair Lexi has will fit??), soaps, diaper pail stuff (which Trisha will be getting as a gift since we don't do cloth...Merry Christmas! lol), and a bunch of coupon codes. Fun stuff!! Thanks again Trisha for getting it! (and thanks to Emily for not forgetting her clothes yesterday so she could deliver it to me at Nancy's!!)

Happy 6 Month Birthday Lexi!!

I cannot believe my baby girl is a 1/2 a year today. Time sure does fly!! We took her 6 month pictures, but I have to upload them to the computer. That's on tap for this evening. I'll be sure to post them. She was in a great mood, so we got some good ones :) (unlike last month!)

Without further ado...

If you remember my post from a couple weeks ago, I showed a picture of B working on the walkway. And last week's post? Said that we were done. I promised pictures. I finally delivered.....

So...without further ado......

Oh...and B isn't happy because the concrete seemed to wash away. We'll see...Now he just needs to clean up the area around it!

Sneak peek

Last Tuesday we went to a kids Halloween gtg with a bunch of ladies (and a few DH's too!) at my friend, Erin's. Lexi bug got a picture with Daddy before we headed out. (daddy stayed home to work on the sidewalk)
More of these pics to come Friday....our little ladybug is going trick or treating to Gram and Pap's house! :)

These are a couple pictures from yesterday. Lexi was sitting with Daddy and Cinder decided to jump up. He must've forgotten that Lexi loves to grab his fur and "pet" him :) Good thing Cinder-kitty doesn't have front claws as he batted at her at the end (resulting in the second picture).

Lexi Love

Lexi loves the Bumbo. She especially loves to throw her toys off and look over the side. Cracks me up.

Note the new face!

And look at those big beautiful blue eyes!!

grrr

I have a bunch of pictures to share and blogger won't let me upload any of them :( I'm even trying to do one at a time. *sigh*

Nuh-uh!

It's DONE!!!!!!!! Ok, well, almost :) B still has to concrete it in place, but every single stone is finally placed and we have a real walkway! He finished up in the dark, so I couldn't take pictures. If I get home before dark tomorrow, I'll do it then.

yay!!!!!!

Please make it stop

My poor baby girl just isn't herself this weekend. :( She's has been a wonderful sleeper, sleeping through the night and doing at least a 3 hour nap, if not a long one and an hour one. Very rarely does she cry.

Until this weekend. Baby girl's got a tooth coming in. I can feel it on the bottom. I didn't get any naps longer than 30 minutes over the weekend. She cried almost non-stop. I'm now out of Tylenol. And she's just not happy. AT ALL. Thankfully, both Friday night and Saturday night, she did sleep through the night (and slept in until 9am), but that was it.

How long does this last? I want my happy girl back :(

I have awesome friends

Yesterday, I got TWO fun things from friends....

One gave me one of her sons' BUMBOs that he's grown out of for FREE. It's cute..it's purple..my fave! Miss Lex loved it last night. Especially because this one has a tray and she can bang on it. Then she throws her rings and toys off the tray and expects me to pick them up and laughs hysterically when I do. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a laugh and a smile from my baby girl :)

And then, something even BETTER happened. If you know me, you know how much I complain about having to walk in to work. Summer and Fall it's not so bad (as long as it's not raining!), but I cannot tell you how many times I've felt like I was taking my life in my hands walking up that path in the snow and ice. NOT fun. And it gets expensive to pay a whopping $9/day to park in the garage connected to NW.

I've been looking once a week to see what number I am to be able to get into a garage (currently #282 out of 1480 or something...) and it's still a ways off. And, so, I have a friend who works downtown...but she also works at Tuttle, Cleveland and Iowa, too. So.....she was so awesome, she filled out the form and I am now her secondary parker!! YAY!!! Which means when she's not downtown, I get her space in the garage!!!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!!!! I'm so stinking excited :)

I <3 my friends..... :)

Extreme Cuteness

Like a kid on Christmas

I'm so super excited!! I ordered some scrapping stuff on Saturday due to it being World Card Making Day and it should all be here today! Yay!!! Guess we know what Liz is doing once Lex goes to bed tonight :) That is, if I am not still at work...blech!

I suppose I'll respond..

Do you ever get those survey things where you fill out answers about yourself and then it asks "Who do you think will respond?". Man, do I feel guilty not responding if someone puts my name there!! Ms Julie did a survey over on her blog and put me as one to respond, so of course I have to!!! Here we go (this is a small one!)....

A) Four places that I go to over and over: Crappy work, grocery store, my aunt's, home!

B) Four people who e-mail me (regularly): Steph, Rhiannon, Pam, April

C) Four of my favorite places to eat: Genji's, Melting Pot, Napoli's, Hot Dog Shoppe

D) Four places I would rather be right now: In bed sleeping, on a beach, Vegas, with my daughter and husband

E) Four people I think will respond: I won't do that to anyone :) hehe

F) Four TV shows I watch (regularly): Biggest Loser (how mad was I that we only got an hour last night?!?), the news, Imagination Movers, Handy Manny (yeah, it's started already...)

7 random facts

I've been tagged by my friend, Simi, over at Welcome To Insanity. She apparently wants to know 7 random facts about me. Little does she know that I have nothing random about me...ok, so maybe I do. :)

1. The morning I was born, my mom was running around the yard with a hoe in her hands trying to kill a mole. Could be why there is something wrong with me?

2. I was a month late coming into this world. I like to be tardy. Ok, actually I don't. This changed after I graduated college. In high school, I had so many tardys that I had to serve Saturday school (19 freshman year...). Now I absolutely HATE to be late. I start getting anxious and break out in sweats if I'm even 5 minutes late.

3. I hate having a dirty house. If I go for too long and stuff doesn't get picked up/put away and if B doesn't help without me asking, I have anxiety attacks. The whole "leave it for the weekend, pay attention to your kids growing up and not the state of your house" thing doesn't work for me. I wish it did. B does, too. Cause I wind up getting up out of bed at night to clean.

4. I'm told that I'm creative and that I am crafty. I actually think I am horrible at it. But yet, I still do it. Nothing ever turns out like I think it should in my mind.

5. I have a thing for "fun" office supplies. I recently had our admin order me purple steno pads. I can't stand the yellow and green ones because they are blah. She brought me a purple highlighter today and it was literally the best part of my day!

6. I hate Halloween. I hate the pressure of having to dress up. I'd much rather go to a Fall party than a Halloween party. I do, however, like Halloween decorations (the cute stuff, not the vampires, blood, and guts stuff). My dear friend, R, has some awesome decorations :) I'm jealous of her.

7. My daughter was named after a soap opera character. Alexandra on Guiding Light. She's a strong woman and knows what she wants. And, yes, dd's name is Alexia. However, SIL decided to name our nephew Alexander and I thought Alexander and Alexandra were way too closely related. I wanted to call her Lexi anyway :)

And now, I suppose I should tag a few wonderful people. Here we have it (in no particular order):

Rhiannon at We Are The Ferraris
Andrea at Tender Loving Lair
Erin at Our Extraordinary Life
Julie at 47 and Starting Over
Emily at A Day In the Life Of...Em
Sara at Bennett and Kendyll
Colleen at Iron-diva-in-training
