Happy 11 Month Birthday!

As you saw in my last post, Lexi is now cruising all over the place. She's getting a lot more sturdy as she grabs our hands to walk all over. And she's getting faster at that, too.

We think she's got more teeth coming in because she's been so bratty lately. And she's lots more drooly!

She's pretty much off pureed food; I'm just trying to use up what we have in the freezer. She is loving the mixed frozen veggies that are the perfect size for her to eat. And her new fav is vanilla pudding. She chowed down a whole pudding cup on Friday!

Her favorite word is still daddy. I'm not getting to hear Momma too much :( She LOVES when we say "YAY Lexi!!!" and she'll get a huge grin and start clapping for herself. ha!

She's really starting to grow out of her clothes and is pretty much in 12 month stuff now. Though, her feet are still small and most 6-12 month socks are too big and continually fall off!

Hard to believe that this is the last month before I have a one year old. Where has the time gone???? I've already started planning her party and making her invites. I'll give you three guesses on the theme and the first two don't count.. :)

Unfortunately, I didn't get as much done this weekend on the invites as I hoped. Our printer sucks and the cardstock I was trying to use is too thick. So, another trip to Hobby Lobby (oh darn!) is on the agenda this week since I need to get these things out.

Hope you all had a good weekend! Here's to a great week ahead!!

uh oh....

Check out where I found Lexi yesterday afternoon......Guess I need to call Buy Buy Baby to find out when that gate is coming in.....

first attempt

I found a link that had instructions on how to make your own baby legs. I figured it couldn't be too hard and would be much more cost effective than finding them on etsy for $8+ for one pair and paying for shipping.

Last week in our adventures to find some clothes for nyc, I found some cute women's kneehighs in a pack of 3 for $6.99. Tuesday night, I tried my hand at one pair. Today I put them on dd and I think they turned out cute! Not the best pic as it was early in the am and the camera was upstairs so I had to use my phone.

Now to see if her socks stay on with having the baby legs on....

slacking

Sorry I've been slacking on the blog updates. *hangs head in shame* We got back from a fabulous NYC vacation with our besties on Monday night and I haven't had time to sit and relax let alone blog about it! We had a great time there, although I missed my daughter something fierce. Got to see my 5 week old nephew so that helped to fill the gap a bit. Though, it's my understanding that my little girl didn't miss us...though, she was incredibly excited to see us when we picked her up Monday night :)

I'm currently working on getting some invitations made. Sunday marks 11 months since we were blessed with Miss Lex. I can't wait to see how they turn out. I'm painstakingly cutting out lots of stamped ladybugs to go on the invites which is taking forever and my hand keeps cramping! But, it's worth it. :) I can't believe she's almost 11 months, let alone a year! Time does fly!

B is making another trip to Toronto this weekend. This time, he's bringing back the Dakota so that we have another working vehicle. We've been down to one (although, we have the gti and his dad's sundance which neither are completely operable right now) since a week ago Sunday. I got into a wreck and totalled the Corolla :( Thankfully, Lex and I are ok, but it still sucks. So, instead of getting a new car, we figured for now, B will bring back the Dakota and drive that. Guess that means I need to start practicing on driving stick again..... Since he's gone, that means another girls weekend! Yay!!

Hope you're having a FAB week!!

Did I hear that right?

B is off visiting his grandma this weekend and trying to clean out his dad's garage (not a small task, let me tell you! I believe I've commented about the no less than 10 shovels in one garage...). We've talked to him several times since Friday night. Yesterday at one time I talked to him, he had been visiting with his friend/brother, Mike. He and his wife, Amanda, just moved into a new to them house so Mike was showing off the house including Amanda's scrap room.

While on the phone, B says, "Amanda has this scrapping thing that I want to buy for you." Oh really? Hmm. "It's called a cricut." (I've kept my obsession a secret from him apparently...) "It's really cool." So I say, oh yeah, I really really want one and he comments that it's only $159. Well, if you know me, you know I can't get the littlest, smallest one and I need the big mamma-jamma. Told him as much.

L: "That's not the one I want....I want the bigger one...the one that's like $299."
B: "Go figure"
L: "No, I want the bigger one cause it will do vinyl."
B: "Oh really? Huh. Well, we may need to split that cause I could use the vinyl, too, for car stuff."

I thought I had cleaned out my ears yesterday morning, but I'm not so sure.....

Lexi's present

Miss Lexi received a present in the mail today. She opened it to find one of the absolute CUTEST hats I've ever seen. Seriously. If you remember awhile back, I was complaining about how I couldn't find hats that I liked that were cute enough for my cutie-patootie to wear. In steps my friend, Christina. She sent Lexi this.

So, today? Check out what she got:

Lexi says a HUGE Thank YOU to Chris!!! And if any of you love what she does, check out her etsy site!!! She is willing to do custom orders...just send her a message :)

Will it end?

Year end into month end into month end....I'm so tired of working. I'm tired of not seeing my family. I hate only spending time with my daughter on the weekends because she's in bed by the time I get home. I suppose I should be happy that I have a job, but sometimes it's hard to be thankful when you're working 12-13 hour days all week long.

I had this post scheduled to go yesterday, but it didn't work :( So I have to re-post as much as I remember!! Apparently, I need to read up on my blogging skills.....

Daddy had a pretzel rod in his mouth and Lexi thought she needed to have a pretzel, too!

She loves her daddy. He can always make her laugh! Unless it's 3am and she's screaming....

If Lexi was stranded on a deserted island and got to take one thing with her, she'd most definately take Cinder! She LOVES the heck out of him! Good thing he's good with her as she likes to lay on top of him and squish him. She calls him kiiittttteeeee or kit kit :)

A little dark, but all the middle of the night wakings we've had recently aren't so bad when you see a face like this. My pretty little lady :)

melt

there is nothing better than hearing " ma ma ma ma" come out of your daughter's mouth for the first time. b had to call me last night so she'd do it over the phone since i was still at work.

this morning's conversation went like this:
