Random

Sorry I haven't had a "real" blog post in awhile. For the sake of time, I'm going to just do a few random items.

- I'm sick of allergies which have now turned into a cold. I've been taking NyQuil at night to help me sleep and I feel like crap in the morning because I'm so drowsy. I'm happy to sleep in the next two mornings.

- Lexi has been sick. I asked a friend if it was bad that I was happy she's sick because it makes her want to cuddle and be with her momma. lol Thankfully, she's doing a lot better now.

- B's softball team is now 2-1. Both times they've won, I've been there. Apparently, I'm not allowed to miss a game, now. He's really enjoying it, so I'm glad he has something to look forward to.

- Work has finally slowed down. For the time being. We went to a Clippers game yesterday and had a grand old time :) And, we got to leave after the game, so I was home by 3:00 after picking Lex up! Yay!

- We got wonderful news at work last Thursday...we are underneath One Finance Family and our CFO told us we're doing summer hours Memorial Day to Labor Day. We will have no meetings after 1pm on Fridays and it's our time to do as we wish. Which means, if I can get all my shit done, I will be leaving at 1pm today. :) Granted, it won't work for month end and quarter end, but it's nice right now!! They wanted to reward us for all of our long hours and time spent here from December to May. It's nice to be rewarded like that. Of course, B doesn't like it because he doesn't fall under One Finance Family and I'm sure my readers who are also NW associates won't enjoy it either... (or their spouses) :) I told my step dad about it and his comment was (he's an agent): We'll be working to support you taking the rest of the day off. My comment back? "And how many times do you think was I working when you were in bed??" ha!

- I have a special gift I just made for my "Pay it Forward" I did however many months back finished. I hope it'll get to it's recipient soon...I'll take pics and post when I send it. I'm pretty darn excited about it! :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Happy Birthday Jack!

Over the weekend, we went to a birthday party for a wild and crazy two year old, Jack. He's a hoot! I don't envy his poor mom chasing him all over the place! Anyway, we got him some sand toys because he likes to go to the "beach" in his backyard. I decided that the card needed to coordinate with his bright orange pail and I was excited to use my brand new stars from PTI's Star Prints.

On the ball

I had some down time this weekend, so I actually got Father's Day cards made for my dad and stepdad! Normally I'm way last minute on these, so I was pretty excited to get them done way ahead of schedule. I got to use my new Vintage Wood Buttons, Star Prints, Rustic Cream Cardstock, and Rustic Jute twine that all came out in PTI's last release. It's so hard for me to make masculine cards since I have a lot more girly-type stuff in my stash. But I love how these turned out! Still have to do DH's Father's Day card! Pool time!

It's finally warm here in Ohio....warm enough for Miss Lex to try out her new pool and suit! There weren't any boys around so she could show off her bikini, so we kept her covered :)

I think this is the smallest pool I've ever seen....but it does what it needs to do!

She was a little timid but finally we got some splashes at the end :) I think the water was a wee bit chilly!

Thank You Notes

For Lexi's Thank You Notes, I CASED a card by Michelle Wooderson and changed it up a little to make it a little simpler for mass production. I'm happy with the way they turned out.

Some of them have little extra "fun" added to them like 3d flowers or ladybugs. Those are ones that didn't have enough stamped ones already.

I even went so far to put a line of flowers on the inside. Super cute! Hope you like them! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

I've been enjoying my Mother's Day thus far. Lexi sent me tulips to work on Thursday and I got some alphabet stickers today. We went to my Grandma's church for a Mother/Daughter breakfast and she provided all the entertainment. Grandma got all her girls there: her two daughters, two granddaughters and her great granddaughter. She was in her glory!

Here's the card I made for my mom (nestled in my beautiful tulips!). I did a new to me technique using a stamp to create my own paper. I really like how it turned out!

When the cats away...

If you live in Central Ohio, you know how lovely it was outside this morning. Incredibly foggy so that you couldn't see too far ahead of you. I got to work and couldn't see the corner of Nationwide and Front very well. But, the second my co-worker walked in and greeted me, I got a huge smile on my face and said, "GOOD MORNING!! Isn't it a beautiful sun-shiney day out today?"

If you know me, I am SO not a morning person (although, I do like to get in to work early so I can leave early). But, today, today was different. You see, BOTH our manager and supervisor are out of the office. Supervisor is out until Monday and manager is out until the 18th. And the best thing? We've finally slowed down some here. We're still busy doing work, but we don't have a ton of EXTRA added onto us. We don't have someone here treating us like children who don't know what a deadline is and don't know when things are due (that have been due at the same time for at least the past 5 years).

There are 6 of us here on my team and every single one of us is wearing a huge smile today. Amazing. Tomorrow's plans? We're doing lunch as a team because the last time we got to do it was in....hmm...October?? Yeah.... Day's like today are days when I don't mind my job. Especially when it means I get to spend the evening with my husband and daughter and get to eat dinner with them and put my daughter to bed. Oh..and it means I actually get to spend time relaxing and doing what I want! WHOO HOO! :)

Ladybug Invites

I really liked how these turned out. I'm working on the thank you's now, which will use some of the ladybugs again.
