Thanks a Bunch!

I had a lot of fun doing this one! I finally was able to get Everyday Button Bits, so I was super excited to break it out! I love any excuse to use those buttons (and any excuse to buy more!). I don't have much else to say (I know, amazing, huh?), so that'll be it for this one!

Preschool bag

Our neighbors daughter is getting ready to go to preschool for the first time. Over the summer, they were given plain little tote bags and told to decorate them however they want and to have their name on it. Shelby's Momma isn't very creative or crafty so she came knocking on my door. Here's what we came up with using fabric and my cricut.

Shelby picked out everything, we just helped her speed along the process some :) She's a total girly-girl, so she wanted pink and butterflies and flowers. The above picture is the front of the bag. I love how the flowers turned out. I wound up doing a 2in and a 2.25in and blacked it out and then cut out the centers so there's actually 3 layers there.

Here's the back of the bag. Originally, it was supposed to have the same thing front and back, but my blade was on its last leg and I said no :)

Flower closeup. The green has butterflies and the red/pink has triangles. I had her buy the small squares of fabric that JoAnns has.

The butterfly has little spirals. I think he's cute :)

Happy 4th Anniversary!

Happy 4th Anniversary to my awesome and wonderful husband!! I can't believe that it's been 4 years already. We've been through a lot together and more than some people want to have in 10 years, even 20. B is totally my soul mate. It's amazing how much we think alike and how we know exactly what the other is thinking. I can't tell you how many times we've been able to call "jinx" on each other! (yes, we're childish, no I don't care!)

He is the best husband. My heart melts every time I see him and melts even more when he's playing with Lexi and being a daddy. He's my rock. He knows when something is wrong. He knows exactly what to do to get me out of a funk. He knows how to make me laugh until I cry. He takes care of me and our daughter.

He has the wildest dreams. Anyone who knows him knows that. But that's what I love about him. He's able to dream. He reaches far past the stars and doesn't care what anyone else thinks about the dream. I love you B. Thank you for being the man of my dreams!

We're off tonight to celebrate sans child. It's been a long time since we've had a nice dinner out just the two of us! :) (special thanks to steph and erick for the babysitting!!!)

Quick notes on the card....I used sketch CPS129 for this. It shows 3 rectangles, but I used 4 instead :) Did a little bit of sewing and kept it fairly simple!

Merry Christmas!

Yes, I realize it's only August! I am wanting to handmake all my cards this year, so I need to get a head start on them! This is the first one down :) I have some PTI christmas stamps from last year coming to me this week, so I'll be getting busy once those are prepped and ready!

I used FTL #56 for this. I really liked how it turned out. Once I had the idea of what I was going to do, it went pretty quickly! So much easier sometimes when you have a layout (and a few examples) to get one done yourself.

After doing this, I realized that I need more PTI supplies than what are coming in my shipment this week....uh oh! :) The tree stamp is one that I picked up from the Flower Factory for like 89 cents. Can't beat that! Of course, I have no clue who made it.

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy, Stampers Select White
Ink - Ripe Avocado, Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate, Studio G Orange
Stamps - Christmas Trees ??, Polka Dot Basics, Mega Mixed Messages
Other - Ribbon Scrap Pack Red Ribbon, Marvy Corner Rounder, FTL#56

Magnets

I got an order from Trisha for some magnets. She wanted pinks, so these are what I came up with:

Of course, I couldn't give them to her just like that! So, I went and got Lauren Meader's newest My Timeless Template, Tucked Away, to put them in. I wasn't sure the small would fit, so I did the large. So easy and cute! I used PTI Dark Chocolate and spiced it up with Paper Source dp.

I realize now that I didn't take a photo of the top of the box very clearly! Oops! I attached Berry Sorbet ribbon on with some Making Memories Harvest Medium Circle brads. They went all the way through to make sure it held in place.

On the sides instead of using the dp, I used a berry sorbet vintage button and threaded it with a strand of crochet yarn.

The magnet that is second from the left is actually one using this dp. Hence the reason for me choosing it for the template!

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Dark Chocolate, Paper Source dp
Other - Tucked Away Template, Berry Sorbet Vintage buttons and ribbon, crochet yarn, Making Memories Harvest Medium Circle brads, misc papers for the magnets

Floral Birthday

I needed to get my mojo going, so I CASED a card over on cleanandsimplestamping. I like how it turned out, though I wanted to do the leaves like the CASE card, but none of mine looked right. Oh well!

Like the name of the blog states, just clean and simple! I made sure to put a piece of stampers select white on the inside and stamped the bottom with a row of the flowers.

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Berry Sorbet, Ripe Avocado, Stampers Select White
Ink - Berry Sorbet, Scarlet Jewel, Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, Ripe Avocado, Studio G Purple and Orange
Stamps - Inkadinkado Flowers, Birthday Basics

A girl and her dog

After 6 long years of begging and pleading, I finally caved. I let B go get a dog. We picked up Diesel from the Franklin County Humane Society on Friday night. Lexi is happy to have a "DOGGIE!!" in her house. She likes to give him kisses :) And pats him on the head.

It's almost time for football to start up again and you know what that means.....the Buckeyes are BACK! And they're going Across the Field :)

Lexi decided to celebrate early and walk across the room. 12 feet to be exact :)

Dawn's Color Challenge #14

Once again this week I was able to participate in Dawn's weekly color challenge. This one wasn't too hard for me as I LOVE all these colors! Notice the buttons in her inspiration photo? Yummy, huh? The Plum Pudding ones will be released on the 15th through Papertrey Ink.

I FINALLY was able to get my new-to-me sewing machine out and put it to some use! I had to read the instructions on how to get everything started, but I was able to put some fun stitching on this one! I also made a fun faux flower, although I should've put some leaves on it somehow. Oops. :( I did use a Scarlet Jewel button for the centerpiece.

I think it took longer to set up the bobbin and get everything threaded than it did to make this card! ha!

Supplies: (All PTI unless noted)
Paper - Raspberry Fizz, Plum Pudding, Scarlet Jewel, Vintage Cream
Ink - Vintage Cream
Stamps - Mega Mixed Messages

Pay It Forward #3

Last night I got to give away another Pay It Forward! This one went to Rhiannon. I did the same as I did for Colleen and made a Perfect Match Box and put fun magnets that I made inside. I started with the paper. I chose one of the papers from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey Collection and made the box to match.

I used PTI's Pure Poppy and Aqua Mist (I think...it's either that or Spring Rain). They matched really well to the paper I thought! I used a Vintage wooden button that I had in my stash of buttons to use as a handle. This one worked well for this project because it's one that has the little loop thingy on the back, so it makes it harder to use on cards.

I put 6 magnets in and did the same thing as the other set I made...just used the sample piece in the front of the pack to cut out my circles!

I took a picture of them a little closer so you could see the details as well as the back of them. I wanted to use a little larger and thinner magnets, but I couldn't find any at JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby, so these are what I used. I think I need to see if Flower Factory has some.

I know Rhiannon liked them because the instant she saw them, she squealed and said they'll go right in her office! Funny thing is that I did them to match her kitchen! ha! :) Now I know what she thinks, what do you think?

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)
Paper - Pure Poppy, Spring Rain/Aqua Mist, Basic Grey Lime Rickey Collection
Other - clear gems, 1 inch circle punch, mod podge, magnets, glue gun, red line tape, vintage wood button (source unknown), MyTimelessTemplates Perfect Match Box

Pay it forward #2

Yay! Another Pay it forward gift sent and received :) This one went to Colleen. I decided to do something a little different and not do cards, but I still used paper!

For this one, I used one of Lauren Meader's My Timeless Templates (available through Papertrey Ink) called Perfect Match Box. It's just like a little matchbox where you slide the outer cover off! So cute and easy to put together. On the box, I used Summer Sunrise and Aqua Mist (I think...I got a combo pack and don't know the exact names!) cardstock. And then used Rasberry Fizz for the inside piece. So summery! I used my newest stamp set, Polka Dot basics along with Versamark and clear embossing powder. I think it turned out pretty cute!

On the front, I used a Summer Sunrise button to act as a handle and tied it in with some random pink and white polka dot ribbon I had sitting around (it actually came wrapped around a vase from my mother's day flowers! Never know what you might use!)

And for the goodies...homemade magnets! These are so simple to do! I used paper from Basic Grey, the Lime Rickey Collection. These are actually using the sample sheet in the front of the pack that shows the different papers in there, so I didn't even have to use up my fun papers! :) Love it!

My favorite one is in the bottom left hand corner...the little birds/chicks. They crack me up! Colleen, I hope you enjoy your gift! Tomorrow I should have another blog with another pay it forward :)

Stamps - Polka Dot Basics, Mega Mixed Messages (on card)
