pictures

I haven't updated my blog in awhile with Lexi pictures, so since I pulled some off the camera from February (I'm behind a bit..sorry!), I figured I'd post these! We were making Valentine's Day cookies...yum!

It's an "A" for Alexia :)

And a different day...one of my favorite outfits...she's so stylish :)

Pumpkins

I had a free few moments the other night and made Lexi a super cute pumpkin shirt. I saw something similar, but on a pillow and thought it would be cute for a shirt :)

The orange is fleece and the patterned is regular cotton fabric. I just stitched around each one and added a stem at the top.

She wasn't too thrilled at me taking pictures of her so early in the morning, though! :) Her fun hair corkers were made by my friend, Sarah, of polka dot kid shoppe.

Big Week

This is a big week in our household. Why? Because my baby girl turns TWO on Thursday. She's not really a baby any more :( I'm sad, but I'm loving it even more with how she interacts with us and everyone around her.

I thought it's been awhile since I shared photos..here's a few from the past week!

This one, she pointed to the camera and said CHEESE! so of course, Daddy had to take her picture!

She loves to brush her teeth...we hear TEEF! constantly in our house. There are much worse things she could be wanting to do all the time!

This used to be Daddy's book growing up. I think it's bigger than she is! :)

Peering out the window. I remember it wasn't too long ago that she had to stand on her tip toes and could just barely see out her bedroom window. Not so anymore!

Aw, Momma caught me! :)

Hope you had a great weekend!! Here's to a wonderful week!

What I've been up to...

My brother in law finally came home from Afghanistan on the 14th, so we made a beeline down to Florida for a surprise visit! It's been fun, although, we're heading back tomorrow :( Nice to have Jose back on American soil again (he's pictured above with Lexi).

Snow time

B and Lex went out to play in the snow Sunday before we left for our Super Bowl festivities. She didn't enjoy it as much as when we went sledding, though. I need to get her some gloves that are waterproof and snowproof and don't just keep her hands warm.

Princess

I was a winner a few months back of a giveaway from Oh Sew Sweet Creations and could choose any crown I wanted. So, for Christmas, Miss Lexi got a pretty purple crown complete with the letter L on it :)

Dancing Queen

One night, B put on some music and told Lexi to dance. My daughter is a total white girl when she dances...gets it from her momma! LOL I have no clue what she was doing...flapping her arms and what not. Hysterical!

This one was a "You already got ONE picture of me...you don't need another!" ha! And, for those of you wondering....that sweater was sewn by my Grandma. For me when I was Lexi's age :) I love that my mom saved some of my sweaters that Grandma made. Especially since she hasn't been able to crochet in a long time.

Happy Girl

Just a few pictures to get you over the hump :)

Squealing with delight :) One of the best (and sometimes worst!) things about having a girl :)

Contemplating life. Maybe starting a journal with that pen she's holding?

Texting her BFF, Delaney. I doubt it went through since there's no service on that phone. Oh well, we won't tell her that ;)

Deck the halls

I love Christmas time! I love pulling out my holiday decor and remembering fondly all the memories associated with it. I took pics of two new decorations this year because I love them. The first is a door. Not just any old door, however. We've been working (yeah, I know it's been two years...) on cleaning out my FIL's house. One of the items I've been wanting for a long time has been the old door up in the rafters in the garage. I finally got it :)
This door is (I'm assuming) from the house. We're not exactly sure how old the house is, but there's a picture at the funeral home from the 1880's and the house was in it. Pretty cool :) I wanted to leave the chipping pain and scuff marks, so I lightly powerwashed it to get the dirt off and just hung a festive wreath on it. I think I'm going to keep one on it year round..so pretty!
And yes, that's my insanely LARGE Nutcracker :) My mom has been getting me one each Christmas since I was 8 or 9, I believe :) I also have a little itty bitty one who isn't even 2 inches high.
Ever since I can remember, we had a set of sleigh bells at home. You always knew which box held the bells because they'd start jingling the moment you moved it. We always put them on the back door so you'd hear them the second you came inside.

Since I have my own home now, I had to buy a set last year. Unfortunately, they don't fit on my back door, so I settled for our coat closet :) I wanted something else to go there and I had an extra candle ring...Voila! Instant decoration on the handle :)

19 Months

It's so hard to believe, but Miss Lexi is 19 months old today! This morning, we put her in her Christmas dress and put her in front of the tree for some pictures. We got some cute ones that'll go in our Christmas cards. Her dress was a steal at the Twins Sale for $5 from The Gap!

She's really starting to progress on her vocabulary. She can say all of our animal names and please and thank you (most of the time). On Wednesday, she got to see her cousin Alexander and they had a blast playing together! And Thursday, she got to see cousin Maddie. Whenever she's with either one of them, it's always Monkey See, Monkey Do.

I've got some more pictures I took this month that'll be coming up soon...stay tuned! :)
