2009 Year In Review

I did this last year and thought it was fun, so I'm going to bring it back once again! Presenting...my year in review :)

In my 2009...
What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Got a dog

Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make them

Did anyone close to you give birth?
My sister-in-law, a few friends

Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no.

What countries did you spend time in this year?
Unfortunately only the US

What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
More time with Brandon and Lexi
Money!
More crafting time

What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
April 29th - The day my daughter turned one. I think that's a pretty big achievement, don't you?
July 5th - The day I turned 30 and was reminded of what awesome friends I have

What was your biggest achievement(s) of the year?
My crafts/cards. I never thought people would pay me to do what I love to do and what I use as my "me" time.
I also took on a LOT at work thanks to a new boss and will be getting promoted come the new year (or March since we're on NW time).

What was your biggest failure?
Not spending enough time with those I love

Did you suffer any serious injury or illness?
Thankfully, no.

What was the best thing you bought?
A cricut (although, it was bought for me by my friends and B, so that probably doesn't count).
Otherwise, it's been my new eyeshadow and eyeliner. Seriously. Makes me feel good every time I put it on :)

Whose behaviour merited celebration?
I said the same thing last year and I'm keeping it again this year. Brandon. He amazes me daily at how wonderful he is at being a daddy and husband. I take him for granted way too much.

Whose behaviour made you appalled and/or depressed?
Really no one that sticks out in my mind. Thankfully.

Where did most of your money go?
Papertrey Ink, Lexi, house

Compared to this time last year, are you,
a) happier or sadder? Honestly, it depends on the day and how stressed I am. I've had a lot going on lately.
b) thinner or fatter? Ugh. Fatter. I need to get to the gym, but I don't want to give up Lexi time to do it.
c) richer or poorer? About the same. Not much has changed, although now we're buying less diapers and no formula!

What did you get really, really excited about?
Spending a week with my nephew
Gaining a new nephew
Having several close friends get pregnant
Going on our annual Myrtle Beach trip!

What do you wish you'd done more of?
Spending time with family. Reading. Crafting.

Did you fall in love in 2009?
Have you seen my daughter?? Who would not fall in love with her and her beautiful eyes, smile and laugh?!? I also fell even more in love with my husband...I didn't think that was possible :)

How many one-night stands?
Unless I was drugged and don't know it...none :)

Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope. I actually have a few people who I didn't "hate" last year, but I have new respect for them this year. I tried to look past the negative and see them for what they were to me and not to other people.

What was the best book you read?
Probably one of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich

What did you want and not get?
To stay at home.

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 30!! We had friends over for a cookout and fireworks. It poured right before everyone was to come, but we made the best of it!

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Being able to be a SAHM. It's my ultimate goal. I feel so guilty being away during the day.

Who did you miss?
As always, my MIL and FIL :(

Who was the best new person you met?
A few ladies who live near me. My neighbor introduced me to them. They are all a hoot and are a great support system to anyone who needs it.

Tell us a valuable life lesson(s) you learned in 2009.
Don't take things for granted. Enjoy every single moment you have with your children. It goes by way too quickly.

What sums up this year? (a word, a quote... ?)
Hanging in there
