TESC 97

I'm on a roll! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I know I was able to get quite a bit of time downstairs stamping and searching for different ideas for cards. If only I could do so well with exercising and eating as I do with this....

Anyway, this card uses Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #97. Yet another one that I probably would've passed up before. But, I realized that you don't HAVE to have that circle in the middle...you can veer from it and do what you want. I think that's held me back a lot. Because most of the challenges I see, many of the cards are using nestabilities (die cutting machines) or the like to cut and emboss and since I don't have one, I don't think mine will come out as good. Another one of the many reasons why I am pushing myself!

I always need masculine cards and this seemed like the perfect sketch. Fairly simple, not a lot of extras needed. I pulled out my stash of scraps and was able to find some Basic Grey papers in there. Instead of the circle, I stamped PTI Star Prints on Scarlett Jewel, Aqua Mist and Spring Moss and adhered them to the card. The sentiment seems to be a great one as it could go for basically anything, although, I'll probably use it as a birthday card.

Have a happy Monday and I hope all of you are striving towards those goals you set for yourself less than 2 weeks ago! Keep up the good work if you are and Get Going! if you're slacking! :)

Supplies used:
Paper - PTI Kraft, Spring Moss, Scarlet Jewel, Aqua Mist; Basic Grey Lime Rickey

Christmas Wishes

Two more Christmas cards done! Yay! I had already cut the base paper in half and had everything accessible, so I figured I'd just make two :)

If you recall, I mentioned I used TECC#80 again, and these were the cards that resulted! I made these a bit different from each other. If you look, the one on the left is distressed (with my fingernail as I STILL cannot find a distressing tool!). I also crumpled up the Santa dp and then sewed it on. I actually like how both of them turned out.

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Scarlet Jewel, Kraft, Rustic Cream, DCWV seasons dp
Ink - Scarlet Jewel, Ripe Avocado, Creative Living Toasted Almond Dauber
Stamps - Polka Dot Basics I, Merry and Bright
Other - 1 3/4" EK Success Punch, 2" Fiskars Circle punch, sewing machine

Dawn's Color Challenge #16

I got a chance to participate in Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge for this week. I always like when I have time to do them! For this challenge, I used all PTI colors: Summer Sunrise, Rustic Cream, Dark Chocolate, and Kraft. I knew with these colors I wanted to do an autumn theme, but wasn't sure who I'd make an autumn card for. (I don't like just having them sit around...I like to send them out!)

Here's what I came up with! We have two family weddings in October, so I thought this was perfect!! I did two different colors using Polka Dot Basics I: Ripe Avocado on one and Dark Chocolate on the other. I used Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #80 for the layout. Love this layout! (watch for coming cards...I also did Christmas cards with it too!)

I decided that the dp looked a little blah, so I used my sewing machine and sewed around it. And then used my dauber to sponge on some ink to distress the whole card and the punched circles a bit. Adds much more character!

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Rustic Cream, Kraft, Summer Sunrise, DCWV seasons dp
Ink - Dark Chocolate, Ripe Avocado, Creative Living Toasted Almond Dauber
Stamps - Polka Dot Basics I, Mega Mixed Messages
Other - 1 3/4in EK Success Circle Punch, 2in Fiskars Circle Punch, Sewing Machine

Ab Fab

With having 12 girls go in on one gift, you know there has to be a ringleader who started the whole thing and got everything together. Rhiannon was the one who thought of the idea to get me a cricut and sent out the emails and everything. I think she's Absolutely FABULOUS :) And of course, I had to tell her so!! Her favorite color is pink, so I made sure the card had a ton of pink on it. (though, I don't think many of her cards from me are lacking in the pink department!)

I was able to use another sketch, this one is TECC #73. It took me a bit to figure it out since I wanted to make sure you could see every layer just enough.

Thanks again, R, for being so fabulous!! Love you!

Supplies:
Paper - PTI Dark chocolate, Sweet Blush, Rasberry Fizz; Taylored Expressions Birthday Girl DP
Stamps - PTI Mega Mixed Messages
Ink - PTI Rasberry Fizz

Super Star

I got tired of saying thank you....so I told my girlfriend, Steph, that she was a Super Star instead! This has a combination of my favorite things right now....the text style stamp, stars, and scarlett jewel. Mmm.... The funny thing is that I saw a blog post the other day by one of my favorite stampers and she had used twine the same way I had. I hadn't seen it done like this before! I thought it looked silly 1 time around, so I did 5 times :)

I used the sketch for TECC #72 for this one. I flipped it up and down, so I didn't have the room for the half moon shape, but I got everything else in there :)
