wedding wishes

I'm way behind in showing stuff as this is from June.....oops! The patterned paper is from Jillibean Soup Blossom Soup. It's amazing how well the flower from Flower Fusion #3 goes with the patterned paper! I did a stitch around the outside, though you can't see it as well from the pictures.

yay!

One of my friends is off on a cruise ship to get married today! I wish I could be with her to share in her special day, but, unfortunately, it's an incredibly busy time at work and there was no way I could go. She had asked me to make her a sign/flag that she could use in her pictures. I didn't really have any requirements besides it needed to have the word "yay" on it.

So here's what I came up with for her.....

I used poster board as my base. I cut two triangles and covered both in the hot pink fabric (her colors are hot pink, orange, and green). Each side got orange rick-rack ribbon around the edges. I then made a little pocket with some leftover fabric which allows the stick (wrapped in orange ribbon) to slide in and out. That way, she can pack it easily in her suitcase.

I used my cricut to cut out the yay! in vinyl. It was easy to put on and she can remove it if she just wants it for decoration.

Em, I know you'll be a stunning bride! I can't wait to see all the pictures and celebrate when you get home! Congratulations and here's to many many happy years!

Another sign

I did this one for the wedding reception we attended on Saturday. Wanna know what's crazy? They had the SAME sign leaning on an easel at the gift table! Granted, it wasn't in vinyl (it was painted) and it was green, but it was the same thing! Mine was loads better. ha!

Don't forget...the giveaway ends on Wednesday...get your entries in!

Best Wishes

We have yet another wedding to go to this weekend, so I needed another card (actually, the wedding already happened, we're just going to a reception as they were married in Mexico!). I took the idea off a card Dawn did for the Vintage Labels release.
I love the look of the black and white with the small splash of color at the bottom. I tried to keep it so it was gender neutral. As much as I wanted to add pink, I didn't! So proud of myself! Quick deets...I used True Black Ink on Stampers Select White and used one of the fun stamps from Vintage Labels. The bottom is Aqua Mist and they're tied together with True Black Saddle Stitch ribbon.

Don't forget to enter the giveaway for Chaya's Corner!! You only have until the 11th!!
Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - True Black, Aqua Mist, Stamper's Select White
Ink - True Black
Stamps - Vintage Labels, Mega Mixed Messages
Other - True Black Saddle Stitched Ribbon, Fiskars Threading Water Punch

Congrats Jake and Christi!

My younger brother is getting married today!! He and his soon-to-be wife have been together for 4 years now. I truly think she is the best thing for him! Although I can't believe he's old enough to be getting married....(yes, I do realize he's 25!)

I decided to pull out all the sentiments I have that have to do with love and weddings and happiness and put them all on a card. I really like how it turned out! I added a little POP of color with the scarlet jewel hearts and the strip of spring moss cardstock. I even got a "Wow, I love this one!" from B, which is amazing!
