clips and magnets

I love making magnets and clips! I made up a few sets using PTI's nugget tins. Both the clips and magnets have the same paper, allowing a great set to give as gifts! If I don't put the clips in a tin, I'll adhere a magnet on the back, but using the tins, there's not enough room.

On the less busy papers, I normally stamp a few words (maybe later, important, stuff, bills and coupons are on this set).

Stuff

As promised, here's a few of the things I've been working on!

One of my best sellers....OSU magnets! GO BUCKS!

A new, never been seen (from me at least) item are my To Do frames. These come with a Dry Erase marker.

New phrases for my clippies!

And a peek at one of the Christmas cards (I've made a TON of these so far!). I've used a bunch of different colors since I tend to get bored with them after awhile! :)

And last but not least, altered frames. This is one of my favorites that I made this week. I have about 6 of them I've made recently to sell :)

Hope you enjoy!! And, if you're in the area, I'll be setting up shop at the Worthington Market Days on September 25th, so come on by!

Black, White and Red all over

That's always been one of my favorite jokes! And you can have so many answers to it, but for some reason, I always think of Clifford the Big Red Dog! My mom must've had a big influence on me...it was the 1st grade teacher in her!

I got an order for two boxes, four magnets in each and they needed to have C's on them for my friend's mom and mother-in-law. I based these completely around paper I found on sale at Jo-Ann's. Fun black and white prints. And what goes better with black and white than red?

I cut out the templates and then stamped Polka Dot Basics in True Black on each using two different sizes. I decided if the magnets had C's, I needed to tie that in to the box, so I stamped the 94pt Curlz font on a piece of Stamper's Select White and punched it out with a 1.75" circle punch. I adhered it to a 2" scalloped punch of True Black and then to the box. The ribbon handle is True Black Saddle Stitch attached with some silver brads I had on hand.

Aren't these fun? All the patterned paper is from DCWV. I used the Curlz font from JustRite on the far right and the small c is from Hero Arts, which looks like the larger C. I did a piece of Pure Poppy for the splash of red.

Pink and Green

My newest set of magnets and a Tucked Away box are super duper girly and I love it! It's always so easy to come up with girly items when I have to. I used some of the paper leftover from Lexi's room again. The stripes and the flower are from Paper Source and the polka dots are from DCWV. I also have a fun one added in...it's a birthday girl paper from Taylored Expressions. Doesn't every girl loves presents and birthday parties and ice cream? :)

Instead of doing a ribbon or bow or button, I thought I'd make the box even more girly and add some Prima flowers on top in coordinating colors. I layered two and then secured them in place with a green brad from taylored expressions.

Here's a close up of the magnets.

And you can see that I did the back side in the stripes, too. I thought it was a bit blah without it! I think that flower magnets is super cute, too.

Just a note....stick around with me. I'm having a FAB giveaway here on the blog starting Friday morning!!! Make sure you check back!

Fall

Here's another Tucked Away box and set of magnets. These was were fall themed and I was really disappointed I couldn't find any new fall paper that would work for this without ordering online. I don't really have any orange ribbons or buttons or anything, so I used PTI's Summer Sunrise for the ribbon and some brads from the Making Memories Harvest Collection. The patterened paper comes from Basic Grey.

I really like this new paper I found (the flower in the front). Got it at the big Jo-Ann's sale last weekend. There's a bunch of different colored flowers on the 12x12 sheet, so I chose this once since it matched the fall theme the best. The striped paper is another one I found at the sale, too :)

Captured Card Case

I was asked to make a set of 8 (yes, EIGHT) magnets for a birthday girl. Only stipulation was they had to be fun. Since I was doing so many, I needed a bigger box to put them in. I haven't used the captured card case lately, so I pulled that one out. It worked perfectly!

For the base of the box, I used Stamper's Select White. The top is done in Lemon Tart. I love the dp, it's one from Hobby Lobby. I actually used this back when Lexi was born and it covers one of the letters that hang on her wall that spell out her name. Amazing that I still have it! But, one of my goals is to cut down on my paper, so that means trying to use up what I have. Once I do, then I can go buy the paper I really want! :)

I did the magnets in all sorts of papers...the one on the far left is from the paper on top of the box :) I *think* they go together...I had a hard time trying to find 8 different complementary papers on hand!

To add a little extra to the box, I tied a Raspberry Fizz ribbon on and added 5 Raspberry Fizz flower buttons. Love those buttons..I think they're so cute!!

Happy Fall

I think I sat for eons trying to come up with a cute box for this next set of magnets! Steph ordered some fall magnets from me and I wanted to try and do a box to go along with it. Once I figured it out, I couldn't for the life of me get the cuts right! So frustrating! I wanted to put the leaves on more than the top, but my frustrations got the better of me :) So instead, I added the Happy Fall on the back.
The magnets didn't come out completely in the picture, but the far right one (and another not pictured) are the same paper as on the box. Instead of making a handle with the ribbon, I just tied it around the top more for decoration. I used the Tea Dye duo on the edges to give a little extra character, too.

Matchbox Magnets

I recently did a set of magnets for Jessie. She didn't give me any directions other than she wanted 6 of them in "my" colors. LOL I decided I wanted to go back and do a matchbox again since it's been awhile since I've done one. I used Kraft for both pieces of the box and added some Paper studio dp on each edge. I used PTI Berry Sorbet and Dark Chocolate buttons sewn together as a pull.
If you notice, a few of the magnets use the paper I used on the box. My favorite one you can't see as well in the lower left corner. It says Love and Family (and if you look close enough I think it says crazy, too! ha!).

The inside was one of my favorite things...I cut up packaging from one of my PTI orders. Nothing like free packaging!

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Kraft, Paper Studio dp, dsvw dp
Other - Berry Sorbet and Dark Chocolate vintage buttons, linen thread

Life

So sorry that life has gotten in the way of my blogging and updating! Right now is a horrible time at work. We're right in the midst of quarter end which means not a lot of time is spent at home :( Or on the computer, unfortunately! (at least for non-work things!)

Two weekends ago, I posted a card for one of my friends housewarming party. I wound up making her some fun magnets to adorn her fridge and a box to put them in. I'm still loving this one. Super easy and there's two sizes to make. I've been doing the small one only because it only takes one sheet of cardstock!
I decided to do something different and stamp letters on top of the paper for the magnets. I think it's so cute how they turned out! I did one for my friend and then one for each girl. I thought they'd like to have something with their initial on it, too!

I'm hoping to have some blog posts to share with you this week! I have been busy making a few things when I've had the time!

Supplies:
Paper - PTI Dark Chocolate, DSVW polka dots
Stamps - Polka Dot Basics I, Just Rite Curlz
Ink - Versamark, PTI True Black
Other - PTI Berry Sorbet Ribbon, Flowers, Making Memories Harvest Brads

Fall is here!

If you're in Central Ohio, like me, you realized this weekend that fall is finally here! The leaves are starting to change, the Buckeyes are playing, and there's a chill in the air. I decided that I needed some fall magnets to spruce up my cubicle at work, so I made these up this weekend while I was doing some others for a customer.

As you know, I've been making Christmas cards, too, in attempt to get them all done (handmade!) in time to send them out before Christmas. I'm getting there! So, since I had some Christmas papers sitting on the desk, I figured I'd do a couple Christmas magnets while I had the glue gun hot.

It was dark when I took the pictures, so they didn't come out the best. The green one says Bows, Tree, Holly. Half the fun of making these is trying to find a good spot on the paper to cut out!

I've had a few people ask me and, yes, I am selling these! If you're interested, just send me a message and we'll chat! Hope you had a fabulous Monday!

Go Bucks!

We're getting ready to head out to an OSU viewing party, but I wanted to post a few pics before we left. These are my newest magnets I made...Block O and Brutus :)

I did a side view on my fridge so you could see the back. They don't stick out too much, but you're able to grab them fairly easy, which I like. Nothing worse than a magnet that you can't get off your fridge and you have to slide it to the edge to get it off! And in the process, you scrap up your fridge door....

Anyway, what do you think? Like 'em? Make sure you scroll down, I did a post earlier this morning with a new card you don't want to miss! :) GO BUCKS!

Magnets

I got an order from Trisha for some magnets. She wanted pinks, so these are what I came up with:

Of course, I couldn't give them to her just like that! So, I went and got Lauren Meader's newest My Timeless Template, Tucked Away, to put them in. I wasn't sure the small would fit, so I did the large. So easy and cute! I used PTI Dark Chocolate and spiced it up with Paper Source dp.

I realize now that I didn't take a photo of the top of the box very clearly! Oops! I attached Berry Sorbet ribbon on with some Making Memories Harvest Medium Circle brads. They went all the way through to make sure it held in place.

On the sides instead of using the dp, I used a berry sorbet vintage button and threaded it with a strand of crochet yarn.

The magnet that is second from the left is actually one using this dp. Hence the reason for me choosing it for the template!

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Dark Chocolate, Paper Source dp
Other - Tucked Away Template, Berry Sorbet Vintage buttons and ribbon, crochet yarn, Making Memories Harvest Medium Circle brads, misc papers for the magnets

Pay It Forward #3

Last night I got to give away another Pay It Forward! This one went to Rhiannon. I did the same as I did for Colleen and made a Perfect Match Box and put fun magnets that I made inside. I started with the paper. I chose one of the papers from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey Collection and made the box to match.

I used PTI's Pure Poppy and Aqua Mist (I think...it's either that or Spring Rain). They matched really well to the paper I thought! I used a Vintage wooden button that I had in my stash of buttons to use as a handle. This one worked well for this project because it's one that has the little loop thingy on the back, so it makes it harder to use on cards.

I put 6 magnets in and did the same thing as the other set I made...just used the sample piece in the front of the pack to cut out my circles!

I took a picture of them a little closer so you could see the details as well as the back of them. I wanted to use a little larger and thinner magnets, but I couldn't find any at JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby, so these are what I used. I think I need to see if Flower Factory has some.

I know Rhiannon liked them because the instant she saw them, she squealed and said they'll go right in her office! Funny thing is that I did them to match her kitchen! ha! :) Now I know what she thinks, what do you think?

Supplies: (all PTI unless noted)
Paper - Pure Poppy, Spring Rain/Aqua Mist, Basic Grey Lime Rickey Collection
Other - clear gems, 1 inch circle punch, mod podge, magnets, glue gun, red line tape, vintage wood button (source unknown), MyTimelessTemplates Perfect Match Box
