Hey there chickadee

This weekend were heading to a housewarming for one of my high school friends. Of course, I need to take something along and it can't be without a card! We've always called each other chickadee, so when I saw this hey there, chickadee sentiment on Everyday Button Bits, I knew I had to use it! There's one big bird and two little ones for her and her two girls :) And, yes, those are buttons if you don't know this set already! Every stamp uses a button as part of the image. So cool! To make the eyes, I just took my Sharpie and put a little dot right on the button. Easy-peasy!

The Berry Sorbet and Ocean Tides go together really well, I think. Something a bit different than normal for me. I've decided that Versamark is some of the best stuff ever made. With it, I always have a matching ink for whatever cardstock I'm using because it just makes whatever you stamp just a shade darker than the cardstock.

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Ocean Tides, Stampers Select White
Ink - Berry Sorbet, True Black, Versamark Clear
Stamps - Everyday Button Bits, Polka Dot Basics I
Other - Marvy Corner Rounder Punch, Berry Sorbet Vintage Buttons and twill ribbon

Fall is here!

If you're in Central Ohio, like me, you realized this weekend that fall is finally here! The leaves are starting to change, the Buckeyes are playing, and there's a chill in the air. I decided that I needed some fall magnets to spruce up my cubicle at work, so I made these up this weekend while I was doing some others for a customer.

As you know, I've been making Christmas cards, too, in attempt to get them all done (handmade!) in time to send them out before Christmas. I'm getting there! So, since I had some Christmas papers sitting on the desk, I figured I'd do a couple Christmas magnets while I had the glue gun hot.

It was dark when I took the pictures, so they didn't come out the best. The green one says Bows, Tree, Holly. Half the fun of making these is trying to find a good spot on the paper to cut out!

I've had a few people ask me and, yes, I am selling these! If you're interested, just send me a message and we'll chat! Hope you had a fabulous Monday!

Go Bucks!

We're getting ready to head out to an OSU viewing party, but I wanted to post a few pics before we left. These are my newest magnets I made...Block O and Brutus :)

I did a side view on my fridge so you could see the back. They don't stick out too much, but you're able to grab them fairly easy, which I like. Nothing worse than a magnet that you can't get off your fridge and you have to slide it to the edge to get it off! And in the process, you scrap up your fridge door....

Anyway, what do you think? Like 'em? Make sure you scroll down, I did a post earlier this morning with a new card you don't want to miss! :) GO BUCKS!

Happy 30th Jessie!

My friend, Jessie, is finally turning 30 today!! Welcome to the club, chica!! Hope you have a fabulous day and your boys treat you like the queen you are! :)

Onto her card....this uses one of PTI's newest sets, Vintage Labels. I am in LOVE! I used one of the smaller decorative pieces as a background and stamped Raspberry Fizz ink on Raspberry Fizz cardstock. The actual labels are designed to fit with Spellbinders Dies, but I have none (or a die cutting machine), so I hand cut it out. Wasn't too difficult!

I really like how classy this turned out and hope Jess loves it, too!

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Rustic Cream, Raspberry Fizz, Stampers Select White
Ink - Raspberry Fizz, True Black
Stamps - Vintage Labels
Other - True Black Saddle Stitch Ribbon, Berry Sorbet Vintage Button, Rustic Jute Twine

PTI Blog Hop

It's the 25th of the month, which means it's time for PaperTrey Ink's Blog Hop! I've been participating in the blog hop chatter, but this is the first month I've been able to actually complete the challenge!

This month's challenge was to use some of the packaging that comes with our orders when we receive them in the mail. Thankfully, I just had an order so I was able to come up with a few things! This weekend is my niece's birthday party, so I used the paper stuffing to wrap her gift. Before wrapping it up, I used Polka Dot Basics, the small and large single dots and randomly stamped in Ripe Avocado, Dark Chocolate, and Enchanted Evening. I tied it all up with Ripe Avocado twill ribbon.

The card uses two more packaging items. First is the cardboard piece that comes on the ends of the cardstock. I cut off the folded ends, flattened it and adhered it to Ocean Tides and a strip of Spring Rain. The polka dot paper is the banding that goes around the stamp sets. I punched a 1" circle out of Aqua Mist, stamped an E in Versamark and heat embossed it. It's great that the 1" punch fit exactly over the wording for the set!

Supplies:
Paper - Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, Spring Rain
Ink - Ripe Avocado, Dark chocolate, Enchanted Evening, Versamark
Stamps - Polka Dot Basics, Alphabet stamp
Other - 1" circle punch, corner rounder punch, Ripe Avocado Twill ribbon, PTI packaging

It's Your Day

I really like how this card turned out. It's a completely random size (4.25"x7.5") where I just had a piece of scrap and scored it in half to make my card. No sense in cutting! I finally bought the Vintage Touch Inks from PTI. They have two inks that come together (for $5) and you can use one on top of the other to get a vintage look. *swoon*

I individually stamped each of the stars in Dark Chocolate up-top. I like that it isn't perfect. If you double click on the above image, you can see the sentiment better. I stamped "It's Your Day" in Raspberry Fizz on top of the star. I love that sentiment since it would work for almost anything...birthday, promotion, retirement, good grades, etc!

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Rustic Cream, Kraft, Raspberry Fizz
Ink - Vintage Touch, Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate
Stamps - Star Prints
Other - XL Star punch

Purple Polka Dotted Birthday

Here's another card that Steph got! This one Lexi made because she's good like that :) She likes to make her "Aunt" Stephy cards! LOL :) I used PTI Polka Dot Basics I in Studio G Purple and Raspberry Fizz Inks. The Button is Plum Pudding and the ribbon is one of those cheapie rolls I had on hand! Oh...and those purple rhinestones? Yeah..got those in the Target $1 Spot! They're actually supposed to be for your nails or body! I think they work *much* better on cardstock! ha!

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - True Black, Stampers Select White, Raspberry Fizz
Ink - Studio G Purple, Raspberry Fizz
Stamps - Birthday Basics, Polka Dot Basics I
Other - Plum Pudding Vintage Button, twine, Purple ribbon, Rhinestones

Better late than never!

Here's the box I made to go along with Steph's card I blogged about on Monday. LOVE how it turned out! And now she can't complain that everyone else has received one of my boxes except her! LOL

Inside I had rolled up a gift certificate for a pedicure! Pregnant ladies ALWAYS need those and she's been complaining for awhile now! So, a couple of us got her the works! Then I decided that it didn't weigh enough and she needed some magnets, too. So, I made a few that'll look good on her fridge at home :)

Happy 29th!

Today is my dear friend, Steph's 29th birthday!! She's looking forward to spending her last year in her 30's. We celebrated by dinner at Buca (YUM!) and had a blast with all the girls! I love, love, love this card! I thought the colors were perfect and so girly!

The awesome thing about using clear stamps is that you can maneuver them however you want. The happy birthday started out as a straight stamp and I was able to curve it to follow the circle. The polka dots I decided to take all the way through the card...I stamped Polka Dot Basics in Versamark on the Spring Moss, then the pink polka dot ribbon (another scrap from my Mother's Day flowers!), and the dots between the happy birthdays.

Ty wanted to get in the picture, too, to make sure that Steph knows he wanted to wish her a happy birhday, too!! He's so sweet :) Oh...and I DO have a gift that went along with this (the box I made matches the card), but I haven't taken those pics off the camera yet! Hopefully tonight!

Supplies (All PTI unless noted):
Paper - Raspberry Fizz, Spring Moss, True Black, Stampers Select White
Ink - Raspberry Fizz, Versamark, True Black
Stamps - Birthday Basics, Polka dot Basics, Unknown numbers
Other - True Black Saddle Stitch Ribbon, Pink ribbon, 1.75" circle punch, Fiskars Thread Punch

O Christmas Tree

I bought a Christmas stamp set that Papertrey Ink put out last holiday season, Merry and Bright. There are so many different options with this set and I can't wait to play with it more! I used FTL #55 on this one. I love the twine and scarlet jewel button! I'm still loving my buttons and will have more in my next PTI order! :) eee!

Hopefully my next Christmas post will have even more new stamps. I received my stamps I won over the weekend, so I need to get some time to sit down and play with them!

Supplies (All PTI unless noted):
Paper - Rustic Cream, Scarlet Jewel, Kraft
Ink - Ripe Avocado, Dark Chocolate, Scarlet Jewel
Stamps - Merry and Bright
Other - Rustic Jute twine, Scarlet Jewel Button, Marvy Corner rounder

Playing

These are for the people who wonder why I don't buy my daughter toys....

5 Adidas headbands and a belt around her neck, a tv remote, and a spot under the desk = perfect playtime. Don't know what it is, anything that is long, she loves to put around her neck like a necklace!

Wish Big

Yet another card for Alicia! I like this one, but I think it needed some distressing on the edges to give it a little more character. Oh well! One thing I did learn making all these is that it's hard to make cards for someone when you don't know their taste!! But, I did have fun and tried to make each one completely different.

One thing I didn't do was take a picture of the inside. Unlike most of the cards I make to give to friends and family, I actually put a sentiment inside of these (I usually leave them blank and write in them). I think this one just said "Happy Birthday Nana!" in Scarlet Jewel to match the outside :)

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Kraft, Scarlet Jewel, Rustic Cream
Ink - Scarlet Jewel
Stamps - Star Prints
Other - Fiskars XL Star Punch, Twine

Work of Art

Here's another card that I made for Alicia to give to her mom. I started with the ribbon as my inspiration. This one is one of my favorite ribbons, but I never seem to be able to use it. I went with PTI's Spring Rain, Stamper's Select White and The Paper Studio dp to bring in the two colors of purple.

Since Alicia's mom was turning 60, I thought this was an appropriate quote :) Hope she likes it, too!

Supplies (all PTI unles noted):
Paper - Spring Rain, Stampers Select White, Paper Studio dp
Ink - Enchaned Evening, Studio G Purple
Stamps - Birthday Basics, Swirls unknown
Other - Misc Ribbon

Pillows

I'm so glad that we got a dog so that my daughter has a pillow while she watches tv.... I think we need to work on being more "lady-like" too.... :) Thankfully, Diesel just lays there and takes it! Phew!! (good boy!)

Birthday Wishes

I just realized these pictures turned out horrible....oh well! This card went along with the notepad for Alicia's mom. I broke out Everyday Button Bits again and used some fun buttons!

I used Polka Dot Basics stamped in Pure Poppy on the Pure Poppy background, but you can't tell in the picture :( Poop. I love the simplistic-ness (is that a word??) of this one. I did a bit of a different size. 8.5x3.5. I liked it :)

Aren't those buttons fun?!? :)

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Paper - Pure Poppy, Kraft
Ink - Pure Poppy, True Black
Stamps - Everyday Button Basics, Polka Dot Basics
Other - Ripe Avocado, Plum Pudding, and Scarlet Jewel Vintage Buttons
