Dawn's Color Challenge

I finally got time to try one of Dawn McVey's Color Challenges! She gives a picture and you have to take your insipration from there. The colors used are: Papertrey Ink Spring Moss, Stamper's Select White, Pure Poppy and Berry Sorbet. Yum!

I had bought a new stamp set over the weekend which gave me the hearts and swirls. Love those swirls! I wanted to keep it a little simple and crisp. I need to work on my cutting skills.... But the Sentiment, "Youth is the gift of nature, but age is a work of art." comes from PTI Birthday Basics. I think this one will be heading to my mom for her birthday at the end of August!

Papertrey Goodies

I recently found a blog all about Papertrey (you know, the company I've been LOVING lately!). It started with two girls who are overseas and share lots of projects using PTI products. Anyway...they are offering some awesome blog candy. Check it out! (just make sure that I'm the one who wins...not you...LOL!)

Laughter

One of my worst fears has come true....my daughter laughs at me when I try and tell her no. Yesterday she was continually hitting the side of the tv. I told her to stop. She laughed. I moved her away and started playing with her. She got up and went back and started hitting it again and laughed once again when I said no. I finally swatted her hand and she laughed even harder. UGH!!! So unbelievably frustrating.

She's still not walking. She's apparently content with crawling and holding on to something and moving along. Some days, B and I will sit in the family room and have her go in between us....she's made 3 steps that way and that's it. It's been like that for about a month now. Everyone keeps saying that she's right there....she'll be walking soon. Um, they've been saying that for 3 months now! To me, that doesn't constitute "soon".

We've got a few more teeth come through. These ones were hell. Thankfully, my daughter has come back (minus the laughter when I discipline her). Her hair is getting longer by the day and even more curly in back. I love it.

Lexi and her daddy had a good time this weekend going back to see Great Grandma. And I know she loved having them! They got to see Grammy Pammy, too. I got a lot of cleaning done while they were gone. Lexi's outgrown clothes are all boxed up and marked and I even went through to make sure all the 18 month clothes are out. She's still in mainly 12 months, but can wear some 18 month. She's got her 15 month appt next week, so I'm anxious to see how she falls with weight and height!

Hope you had a fantastic weekend!

The End

I've finally reached the end of my stash of Thank you cards! Now the goal is to keep up with making and posting new ones! Wish me luck. LOL I've found that I need some new stamps. I keep using the same ones over and over again. Now if only my bank account would magically gain some moola, I'd be able to get some!

I used one of my Stamp It! Cards mags as inspiration for this one. I think it was a Mother's Day card originally. I love the Ripe Avocado/Spring Moss with the True Black saddle stitched ribbon. Seems so classy!

Since this is my last thank you, I want to thank once again all the awesome girls in my life who think enough about me to go in on the cricut. You ladies are AWESOME and I love each and every one of you!!! I am truly blessed to have you all in my life (and so are my husband and daughter). You are amazing and I love you. Thanks again Rhiannon, Steph, Colleen, Emily, Trisha, April, Jodi, Adrienne, Liz, Angie, Crystal and Danica!!!!!!

Friday

Ahhh...TGIF indeed!!! It's been a busy week at work trying to get everything done and making all of our deadlines (it's been a few quarters since that happened!). We're ahead of the game, so that means we can take advantage of our summer hours today!! Yay!!!

Big plans for the weekend?? I do! As B says, I'm "kicking him out of the house". Not really...he's taking Lex to his grandmother's for the weekend. There are a few items he wants to get out of his dad's house and I'm hoping he can find his mom's sewing machine. I'm REALLY wanting to use one on some of my cards and I would LOVE to have a free one!! So cross your fingers for me :)

So, while those two are spending quality time together, I'll be cleaning the house upside down and inside out! I've got my list going. Dusting, mopping, scouring, washing sheets, towels, rugs, you name it, I'm doing it! And I'm hoping to do some touch up paint to a few of our walls. We had our 1 year where they came and fixed stuff (ahem...3 months ago) and I have spackle on my walls that needs painted over.

I hope you have a wonderful Friday and a very happy weekend!!! Here's a few pictures from last weekend.....she's totally a product of B and I...going after the beer instead of the water!

Ab Fab

With having 12 girls go in on one gift, you know there has to be a ringleader who started the whole thing and got everything together. Rhiannon was the one who thought of the idea to get me a cricut and sent out the emails and everything. I think she's Absolutely FABULOUS :) And of course, I had to tell her so!! Her favorite color is pink, so I made sure the card had a ton of pink on it. (though, I don't think many of her cards from me are lacking in the pink department!)

I was able to use another sketch, this one is TECC #73. It took me a bit to figure it out since I wanted to make sure you could see every layer just enough.

Thanks again, R, for being so fabulous!! Love you!

Super Star

I got tired of saying thank you....so I told my girlfriend, Steph, that she was a Super Star instead! This has a combination of my favorite things right now....the text style stamp, stars, and scarlett jewel. Mmm.... The funny thing is that I saw a blog post the other day by one of my favorite stampers and she had used twine the same way I had. I hadn't seen it done like this before! I thought it looked silly 1 time around, so I did 5 times :)

I used the sketch for TECC #72 for this one. I flipped it up and down, so I didn't have the room for the half moon shape, but I got everything else in there :)

Supplies: (All PTI unless noted)
Paper - Dark Chocolate, Scarlett Jewel, White, Kraft, Rustic Cream
Ink - Scarlett Jewel

Thanks a bunch

Getting tired of my cards yet? At least it's one way for me to post every day! LOL I actually remember who this one went to....I made it specifically for Danica. It's bright and fun and sunshine-y just like she is :) I did another long one (8 1/2 x 3 1/2) and just one layer.

The flowers are actually a 2 in scallop punch that I cut down at each indent and then fanned the cuts to make it look like petals. The stems are part of a flower from Inkadinkado Doodle Flowers that I just masked the flower and stamped the stem and then cut it out. I thought the buttons were a fun centerpiece!

Supplies: (All PTI unless noted)
Paper - Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise, Lemon Tart, Sweet Blush, White
Ink - Ripe Avocado, Berry Sorbet

Button Thanks

I keep using this same dp from Paper Studio that I got at Hobby Lobby. I just love the colors in it and that it goes with so much of my cardstock I already own. I finally pulled out some buttons again for this one. Buttons always add a fun 3d element to a card. And I think they're a great way to add a splash of color!

I love Papertrey Inks buttons. They come in a huge pack and all of them are different. The best part is they match the paper, inks, and ribbon. I'm falling in love with them! Crazy huh? LOL I guess you have to be a scrapper to understand

Purple Flowers

Surprisingly enough, one color I don't use a whole lot in my cards is purple. Did you know it's my favorite color? Lurve it. My wedding was purple :) (and black and silver, but still, purple, nonetheless!) I don't know why I don't use it....I think part is that I don't like the ink I have very well. It's one of the cheapie Studio G inks that are like $1 at JoAnn's.

This card uses FTL #50. I enjoyed this sketch and trying to come up with all the pieces/parts of it! The ribbon didn't photograph well. It's a light shade of purple.

Supplies: (All PTI unless noted)
Paper - Spring Moss, Plum Pudding, Dark Chocolate
Ink - Studio G Purple, Ripe Avocado
Stamps - Inkadinkado Doodle Flower, Little Lady, Mixed Messages
Other - Taylored Expressions Purple Twill Ribbon, Crayola Brown Pencil, 1 in circle punch

Many Thanks

I liked the look of the last card I did so much that I used pretty much the same idea and did the rectangle of kraft instead of the six flowers. :)

I love doing all lowercase letters that aren't in a straight line. Gives it some character!

Momma Candi

My friend, Candi, is about ready to have a little boy. I can't wait!! She already has a 7 year old, but this will be her husband Chris's first. They are both so excited and I know they're going to be awesome parents once again!

I FINALLY got to use my Cricut!!! Yay!!! I was trying to figure out what I could do with the packaging (I got her what every parent REALLY wants...diapers and wipes!) and decided to use Kraft paper and cut stars and "a star is born!" out of blue paper. I just glued it all on using my Stampin' Up! glue marker.

I love this stamp....if you click on the picture to enlarge it, you might see it better. But, the words are the lyrics to twinkle twinkle little star :)

You're too kind

These two cards aren't my favorites...they're simple, but they're a little too simple for my liking, I think. I'm not used to only having one layer on my cards. Though, it did make them go together pretty quickly!

This used FTL #46.

I used a white gel pen to draw the rectangle and according to Clean and Simple, it's supposed to add dimension to a one layer card. Eh, still not my favorites!

Supplies: (All PTI unless noted)
Paper - Kraft
Ink - Rasberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, True Black

Zoo

Last Sunday we took Lexi to the zoo and, third time being the charm, we finally remembered to take the camera! We're really enjoying having the zoo membership this year. I think she likes the fish and monkeys the best....but then again, they're the most active animals there! She also got a kick out of the otters who swim just like she does.
